As I understand it, interferometry (and spectroscopy - no test correlator)
is very likely to be posponed until after 2004-01-01, and will take place
generally with pre-production prototypes rather than evaluation systems. So,
for example, the test correlator would never be used, instead the prototype
correlator would be the first correlator used at the VLA site. The intention
would be to still do interferometry at the VLA after the antenna technical
report is written.

I'm not too sure of the schedule (would it be 2004-01-02, or would it be
noticeably later) though.
