The replacement of the database server named lando by the server
currently known as lando-new is still scheduled for the double
maintenance day that falls on Tue, 11/12 & Wed, 11/13.

With this change the names "lando-new" and "lando-new.evla.nrao.edu"
will disappear from our network. Any/all programs, scripts, etc that
reference these names must be changed. Details on how best to make
the change were given in a posting of 10/30/2013, subject: lando
replacement.

Requests are still being received by the servers named "andy", "amos",
and "whatever" that contain the string "lando-new". For the period
7AM - 2PM today, Thursday, Nov 7, software running on the following
machines issued requests containing the string "lando-new":

                   andy.evla.nrao.edu
                   vladrack.ad.nrao.edu.
                   ladybird.ad.nrao.edu.
                   dropbox.aoc.nrao.edu.
                   lando-new.evla.nrao.edu.
                   lando.evla.nrao.edu.
                   snow.aoc.nrao.edu.
                   loiflap1.evla.nrao.edu.

"andy" is a sever at the VLA site. We think its appearance in this list
may simply be a function of the requests it is handling.

We know the machines "lando" & "lando-new" but are not sure why they are
making requests containing the string "lando-new".

vladrack.ad.nrao.edu is a frequent offender. It consistently issues
2 to 5 requests containing the string "lando-new" every hour.

If anyone reading this post has any information about the machines in
this list - where they are located, what purposes they serve, what
software they are running, who the users are, please contact me at X7285
or by email at bshar at aoc.nrao.edu.

If any of these machines are running the EVLA Operators software, please
terminate that software & reload it from the usual place:

          http://www.aoc.nrao.edu/asg-internal/software/evla/

Select the "latest" version of the software. That version has been
modified to eliminate use of the string "lando-new".

As of Tuesday, 11/12, any software that still uses the name "lando-new"
will fail.

If you have any questions or issues, please contact either me, Bill
Sahr, or Daniel Lyons.

Thank you.
