It is clear to me that we are over exposed to failures in the EDFA's 
in their current configuration.  We need to consider reconfiguring 
these unit from the current 1 master / 3 slave arrangement into four 
completely independent master units.  This wiill probably cost a few 
$10'sK but will leave us in situation where we can support our 
required max 24 EDFA's in the remaining three of the four chassis 
when a failure occurs in one of them.
