Update - Oracle still has no ideas and, in fact, hasn't responded 
to my service request today. Nice!

My Oracle guru friend thinks I should restore the entire 
database. The only reason I've hesitated to do that is the size - 
it will take a while. We're trying one last ditch effort to 
restore the affected files. If this doesn't work, we'll have to 
restore the database or completely rebuild it. Hopefully, that 
could be done over the weekend.
