The old listmgr ticket is similar to what I would have to ask you
also - Pat asked the user for more information and suggested a
particular compile command that might have produced useful error
messages. I will need that if you really wish to compile AIPS
for yourself locally. Fortunately, there is a much better option
these days if you do not need to write your own AIPS tasks. We
offer a binary version for Linux 64-bit machines. You install it
with
perl install.pl -n
where the -n means "network". Try this unless you know that you
will write your own AIPS programs.
