[daip] Keeping local AIPS updated {External}

Hello,

Happy new year! I have an older version of AIPS installed on my laptop (31DED20) and run the midnight job regularly with the do_daily.sh script. Does this procedure ensure that I always have the latest version of AIPS tasks and procedures on my machine or do I need to install always the latest version, e.g. currently 31DEC23 and in the future every new version that comes out at the beginning of each year? What is the best practice to keep my AIPS installation up-to-date?
