I was fooled by assuming that the FITS file I was readingwas a FITS idi file.  It was not and all adverbs from CLINTdown apply only to FITS idi files.  When I tested the BIF/EIFoption on a real FITS idi file, the option worked and did notmake a 2 IF output.  Is it possible that you are making asimilar mistake?  But then I would expect your 2 files to bethe same, not just the first with 2 IFs...In any case, UVCOP is the tool to get rid of unwanted IFs.Eric Greisen
