With this little information I have no idea how to help you.

What version of AIPS are you running and on what architecture (MACINT, 
LNX64, LINUX)?  What are your inputs to GAL?  What does IMHEAD show for 
the header of the input file?  And all this may not tell me much - I may 
actually have to have a copy of your input file in order to run the 
debugger.
