You have indicated that this is moot.  However, if you do
not include the character string in the print statement
then nothing with quotes will occur, just the pixstd value.
POPS can read the current input text to get a value.  I do
not know quite how you would envision this and you have
indicated it is moot.

Note that SAD when it figures out the plane's rms uses a
much better method than IMSTAT when there is a signal of
course.  With no signal the two methods should be similar.
