At NRAO you normally need to be a member of the "aipsuser" group
to have permission to use aips.

Type "groups" to see what groups you are in and ask your local
computer helpdesk to add aipsuser to your list of groups.  If that
does not work, send me more details - what computers are involved,
what your .dadevs.always file looks like, and all messages from aips.
User 1 is special, other user numbers are  free game so long as you 
are using a private data area only.
