Numbers like 1.0 and 2.0 have exact representations in IEEE floating
point used by Intel chips. Furthermore, formatting routines cannot
produce colons in the middle of characters. I am thinking that there
has to be hardware problems with your new computer. What happens if you
run a task despite the odd output of the INPUTS verb?
Does TVLOD and TVFIDDLE (TVALL) work?
