[daip] problem with 31DEC11 on MacBook Pro

I have recently brought 31DEC11 up on a new MacBook Pro (2.7 GHz Intel Core i7) running MacOSX 10.6.8 (snow leopard). On the surface AIPS seems to be running, but when I try to run a task, in this case a simple imlod, I encounter a very strange behavior. 

First, the input values, instead of being 1 are .99:. I can enter 0s OK, but not 1s. Similarly, entering a value of 2 becomes 1.99:.
