New Staff Reply: Archive file changes?

Hi Jackie,

I would not assume Jeff had a version of AIPS that was up to date on April 11, most people run midnight jobs by hand when they think of it. So his version could have been from January. The only logical explanations for the SETJY differences are he used a different version or he used different inputs from you (you can select different scales in SETJY).

The opacities use the weather table, if that is wrong then the opacities would be wrong. I seem to remember garbage in the WX tables early on in the EVLA. You can look at the WX tables with PRTAB and see if the number are sensible, they are in real world units so you should be able to judge that. If they are not you can tell INDXR not to use the weather table which is what Jeff did. It sounds like the weather table is either nonexistent or empty and I don't think anything was "fixed" in the archive.

Can you get a hold of the data Jeff used or his tables to compare with yours? That would be the easiest way to figure out how your data reduction and his differ.
