Dear Dr. Greisen,
Thanks a lot for your help!
Indeed, the XAS seemed to be still running. Actually, looking at the
messages given by "ps -f | grep AIPS" I got the following:
501 1716 347 0 0:00.00 ttys000 0:00.00 grep AIPS
501 1149 453 0 0:00.03 ttys001 0:00.07 AIPS1
501 1432 1 0 0:00.04 ttys001 0:00.09 ./XAS -display :0 -t
X-AIPS tv Screen Server 98 - INET -n AIPS98-INET
So XAS was still running.
Killing the XAS process ("kill -9 <XAS_process_number>") resulted in
throwing me out of AIPS.
However, using "aips tv=local" has solved the problem. I am a bit
puzzled, since I thought this (TV=local) was the default.
Anyway, the important thing is that this problem is now fixed.
Thanks a lot again for your help!
Miguel
