You are too impatient.  Wes is on vacation and I would know nothing 
about these matters - Wes will not be back until July.  His comment is 
that the file you changed is being ignored on boot.  Sometimes OS codes 
ignore files when they have wrong privileges.  On my computer
the /etc/sysctl.conf is owned by root with group wheel and rw - r - r
privilege.  I do not see in the above e-mails what version of Max OS you 
are using.
