3.4.6 should indeed work okay.

Note that the 32-bit load modules compiled by our Intel compiler and
installed via binary installation also work on AMDs and run a bit (7%)
faster.

You could cross mount Katherine Blundell's ceardach and share in her
installation which I maintain.   The AIPS system guru Wes Young in
also residing in Oxford at present and so may be of assistance
(wyoung at nrao.edu).
