[daip] permission problem ??

Hi
I am running 31dec04 aips on Fcore2. It was installed (whilst visiting C'ville)
almost 2 years ago. I never did automatic patching because my laptop was
seldom on line.
I am trying to calibrate a short vla observation, and first when exiting
TVFLG and 'actually applying the flags', and then again when trying to run
CLCAL, I get an error message about ZRENAME operation not permitted.
I see the files are owned by root, so i suppose i was root when I installed
aips. I normally run aips as a user, not root.
anyway, i would be grateful for any hints.

from uvplt, it appears that coverage is from about 1 to around 93 kilo
lambda.
ran vlacal on 3c286 and phase cal. got a lot of output which was
disconcerting. Decide to digress to tvplt to get rid of the outrageous
bits.
tvflg rather...
could not see any errant values for 3C286...
for 1039-156, there are some low values; nothing much very high...funny
i thought i had seen some a few weeks ago.....
anyway, if clip between 40 and 60 mJy, should be fine.
why does tvflg show only one scan?????? FIX that by
fiddling with inp parameters
target wants to be clipped above 6 mJy (LL)
in RR, there are really wild values. clip at 8 mJy
?? 'CLIP' does not have a source specification....

managed to clip target except for some values on RR, IF1
don't understand why not got these. Should use clip after
split....
also did some flaggin of phase cal, but for whatever reason,
can't seem to delete 4 point above 60 mJy for IF1, RR

Why is this so much smaller than Cal Manual ?????
Maybe it was flaring when last measured at Xband (which is higher than
the adjoining frequencies...)
