    Probably not - there is a MACPPC area for some files even with no

     I think the error is in setting DISPLAY.  What is

echo $DISPLAY

before you set it?   It should be something like <sunhost>:11.0
where <sunhost> is the name of the sun you are on or localhost.
Then try without setting $DISPLAY

       aips tv=local:0

This runs servers on the sun that simply display on the Mac. It may be
slow but it will work and will not interfere with others also using
the sun.

The above suggestion should work even when the IP address changes no
matter what.
