I am at a loss as to how to help you. AIPS should bring itself up and
prompt you with a read prompt even if the files cannot be accessed.
This is the fundamental thing that is going wrong in your set up and I
have no idea from the things that have been sent why that could be.
The files in the $DA00 area ($AIPS_ROOT/DA00/<host_name> must all be
readable and writable by the user. The source code files (e.g. *.FOR,
*.C, *.SH, *.EXE) do not need to be writable by the user although the
*.SH, *.EXE etc must be readable and executable by the user. The
libraries in the $LIBR/INTELCMP must be readable by the user.
