I'm trying the install -n option now - will let you know how it goes.

Forgive my lack of knowledge, but isn't it funny that the intel 
pre compiled (as 32bit, I assume) binaries work better (slightly, at 
least) on the AMD 64 than the locally compiled version (which would make 
better use of the 64bit architecture)? The intel compiler performs that 
much better...?
