The numbers are arbitrary - integers in the 2 - 4000 range are
acceptable. User 1 is the aips manager which is password protected
(AMANAGER by default) and 0 and negative are not allowed.

error"

I do not know the exact cause of this - does the user have an
$LD_LIBRARY_PATH set? We attempt to include the necessary extra
libraries in that variable but something may be going wrong. Users
should source $AIPS_ROOT/LOGIN.CSH (or . $AIPS_ROOT/LOGIN.SH for
bash) before saying aips. The start-up script may be having a problem
if that is not done.

The only machine referred to in the above (and the lines I deleted)
was europa. It appears that it has not been fully set up.

The disk area $AIPS_ROOT/DA00/EUROPA should have in it a bunch of
parameter files and if there are other aips hosts the areas
$AIPS_ROOT/DA00/<host_name> should have similar files.

The best thing is to login to europa, source LOGIN.CSH, enter $CDTST,
then

RUN FILAIP
35 -100
2 6
35
RUN POPSGN
0 POPSDAT TST
1

I would have expected install.pl to build europa's data are assuming
you installed it on europa. The above will rebuild it.

Then if there are other computers

SYSETUP <host_name>

for each one.
