Eric,

AIPS recently failed me in the following manner:

>clrmsg
AIPS 1: User 2314: 48 messages, oldest written 21-JUN-2003 15:27:15
AIPS 1: Some of these will be deleted on EXIT or TIMDEST

AIPS 1: Deleted 47 messages
AIPS 1: ZABORS: signal 7 received
AIPS 1: ABORT!
Segmentation fault (core dumped)

And when I restart I get:

AIPS 1: 31DEC03 AIPS:

AIPS 1: Recovered POPS environment from last exit
>tget imagr
AIPS 1: ZDIR: COULD NOT TRANSLATE LOGICAL =
AIPS 1: ZDIR:
AIPS 1: ZTXMAT ERROR = 2
>XASERVERS: Start message server MSGSRV on trent, DISPLAY :0.0

>kleenex
AIPS 1: Begin check for any 'standard' scratch files

AIPS 1: Deleted 0 messages
AIPS 1: Saved POPS environment in area named 'LASTEXIT'
TVSERVER told to shut down by XAS
XAS: Quitting NOW.
AIPS 1: Session command-line history saved.
AIPS 1: trent 31DEC03 TST: Cpu= 0.0 Real= 8

And it is not just the `tget imagr' that gives me the ZTXMAT error,
anything as simple as an `inp' gives the same response.

Ian
