Larry, It sounds like it might be an /etc/services problem. You have to change the /etc/services file to get a TV etc servers, although in my experience it is only the TV that is effected. See http://www.aoc.nrao.edu/aips/aipsmgr/ under "Problems with the TV ... servers". Amy
