[daip] Problem installing 31DEC01

Hi,

Following Amy's recommendation, we (Svetlana Jorstad and I) are trying
to install the 31DEC01 version of AIPS on a SUL system. Unlike previous
versions of AIPS, the documentation for installation seems to be
cryptic and unhelpful, unless we are missing something. The error
message contains no information that points the user to the cause of
the problem. The installation is on top of the 31DEC00 version, so we are
using update.pl.

Perhaps it's a problem with our compilers. For reference, here is some
information about them produced in the log of our installation of
31DEC00 (which went very smoothly last May):

Fortran Compiler from /qjet2/aips/31DEC01/SYSTEM/UNIX/FDEFAULT.SH

CC Compiler from /qjet2/aips/31DEC01/SUL/SYSTEM/CCOPTS.SH

If this is not acceptable, please edit that file now,

(but check /INCS.SH first!!!)
