[daip] AIPS install

Dear AIPS helper,

  I'm Hiroko Shinnaga, an AIPS user.  I'm trying to install
AIPS on my computer.  According to the web, I executed

> md5sum 31DEC01.tar.gz.md5sum

after I get the file 31DEC01.tar.gz.md5sum  through the web.
The answer was

# md5sum 31DEC01.tar.gz.md5sum
0439d5ca78764a77212fbaafa7347399  31DEC01.tar.gz.md5sum

however, this is different from the file inside

# more 31DEC01.tar.gz.md5sum
83afed4c50dc9e725941d10a1f14994c  31DEC01.tar.gz

  Please let me know whether I can go ahead or not.

  Actually, I have a CD called "Linux for astronomy vol "3and 4",
and "5 and 6".   In the vol 3 and 4, it contains AIPS 1998 version.
If there is any problem for the installation of the 31DEC01 and
if you recommend me to install AIPS 1998 version first and
upgrade it according to the instructions, I'd like to do it..
