[daip] problem with install.pl on SGI IRIX 6.2

Hello,
I am trying to install AIPS 31DEC01 in a SGI Indigo 2 workstation
running IRIX 6.2.
I downloaded the install.pl script and the big file .tar.gz.
When running perl install.pl I got different syntax errors at lines 89,
94, 96, 103, 110 ...
Perl says the script has too many errors and it cannot continue.

Do you know what is the problem with install.pl ?
Do you know of people using AIPS in SGI IRIX 6.2 ?
Is it possible to get the binaries for IRIX6.2 ?
