[daip] problem with install.pl on SGI IRIX 6.2

      What version of perl are you running.  The install.pl script
does not have perl errors in it - at least not at this level.  Are you
sure that your copy of install.pl is not corrupted?  Could you send me
the complete output from an attempt to run it?

      Ernie??  We have a few SGI sites but none have reported this
sort of problem.

We do not distribute binaries with 31DEC01 since it is a system that -
in principle - changes each day.  We have an SGI compuetr in Socorro
but it runs IRIX 6.5, so even if we wanted to, we could not distribute
binaries for 6.2.
