[daip] Trouble with old data directory.

I recently installed version 31DEC99 on a Redhat Linux machine. I
installed it only for the single machine. I have a data directory full of
maps and UV data that I want to point to. The old AIPS data was created by
an older version of AIPS, I'm not sure which one. It IS however the D
format (not C format). I have setup the DADEVS.LIST file and the NETSP
file to point to this data area, and it loads as disk 2. When I do MCAT I
get the following:
AIPS 1: Catalog on disk 1
AIPS 1: Cat Usid Mapname Class Seq Pt Last access Stat
AIPS 1: Catalog on disk 2
AIPS 1: Cat Usid Mapname Class Seq Pt Last access Stat
AIPS 1: ZFIO: OPER = READ LUN = 15 NREC = 34
AIPS 1: ZFI2: REQUEST FOR BYTES 33793 THRU = 34816 BEYOND EOF = 33792
AIPS 1: ZERROR: IN ZFI2 ERRNO = 22 (Invalid argument)
What does this error mean? Can you recommend a way to access this old
data? Is there a way to recreate the catalog file based on the data that
is present? The data area contains the expected MA*, PL* and UV* files,
and the correct extended hex suffix (505 = 0E1). I do not have available
to me the original version of AIPS that created the data. Thanks.
