	To who it may concern:

My name is Carlos A. Vargas Alvarez, a student working at the Arecibo
Observatory/NAIC, and AIPS user. Currently I'm using 15APR98 version, and I'm
trying to self-calibrate Q-band data from the VLA. I'm having a lot of troubles
trying to figure out what to do, and the AIPS Cookbook and the book Synthesis
Imaging in Radio Astronomy II are not helping a lot.
Finally with CALIB I got the next solutions:
		282 good solutions
		110 failed solutions
and 81 with insufficent data
When I then rum CLCLA to end the self-calibration and then IMAGR to see what
is new, I got an imagr in where the source that I used has a model disapered and
the r.m.s noise have raised by a factor of 2. I have tried to run diffents
interpolations and smoothing on the data but I still don't get the results I
want
So I'm asking you to see if you any idea of how I can attack this
problem and finally self-calibrate data.
