Hi ,

We're having a problem running AIPS on a campus machine (e.g. mars)
remotely from up at OVRO. I tries to ssh down to mars, and then run aips.
(I do not reset the DISPLAY environment so that the X connection will
tunnel back through ssh.)

When AIPS starts, I get the following errors. Looks like XAS could
not work well through ssh. I don't have to set display with ssh. Some
other programs like xterm, emacs work well here remotely. Only XAS didn't
work remotely. can you help us out ? Is there a way to fix it ?

 Thanks,
 Chunhua Qi

P.S. Even though I set display here, xhost+ mars and give command like
aips tv=local:mars, the error below still appeared. --Chunhua
