Dear IAU FITS Working Group Members,

All the votes are now in, and I am pleased to say that both of the proposals 
related to FITS binary tables have been approved nearly unanimously by the 
IAU FITS Working Group:


Proposal 1, to incorporate the Variable Length Array convention into the
FITS Standard:

   Yes -    21 votes
   No  -     0 votes
   Abstain - 1 vote (sent 2005-04-04T18:04:45)

Proposal 2, to incorporate the TDIMn multidimensional array convention into
the FITS Standard:

   Yes -    21 votes
   No  -     0 votes
   Abstain - 1 vote (sent 2005-03-31T10:28:22)


The time stamps listed above are give so that anyone who did not vote "Yes" 
can verify that their vote was recorded correctly.

As of today, 7 April 2005, these 2 proposals should be considered part of 
the official FITS Standard.  In the near future I hope to produce a new 
electronic version of the FITS Standard that incorporates these changes. The 
IAU FWG members will have an opportunity to review and approve this new 
draft before it is made publicly available.
