Conference: The dance of stars: dense stellar systems from infant to old [MODEST 14]

Date: June 2 - 6, 2014

Venue: Physikzentrum Bad Honnef (Bad Honnef Physics Center), Germany

Rationale: 
Dense stellar systems (e.g., young massive star clusters and star-forming regions, globular clusters, dwarf galaxies) play the role of building blocks of the structures in the Universe. The present era is observing an ever-improving observational data and theoretical modeling of dense stellar regions.The objective of this international conference, which is a part of the MODEST (MOdeling DEnse STellar systems) series of meetings, is to gather observers and theorists at all academic levels from all over the world, with expertise on dense stellar population and closely related areas, to assess the current state-of-the-art. Such a timely event would not only facilitate to unify the data and the theoretical models so far but would also perhaps shed light on the issues that are lacking understanding. The event will take place in the Bad Honnef Physics Center (Physikzentrum Bad Honnef) located at the foot of the "Siebengebirge" (the Seven Hills) and is very close to the bank of the Rhine River. The center provides a scenic and quiet surrounding and is equipped with sophisticated facilities.

Registration/abstract submission:
The registration with the possibility of abstract submission is now open. You can register at the above URL (see the "Registration" tab). The deadline for abstract submission is March 31, 2014.
There is no separate fee for attending the meeting. The costs for lodging including the meals will be payable electronically closer to the start of the event. We hope to provide financial support to a limited number of participants (see registration form).

Lodging:
Accommodation is possible either in the Bad Honnef Physics Center premises or in a nearby hotel. You can select your lodging and meal choices (along with other preferences) in the registration form.
