[mmaimcal] Sci IPT meeting

Folks,

You will recall that at last month's science ipt meeting we discussed 
whether the meeting was serving its intended purpose of communication 
and discussion of items relating to ALMA construction.  Very little 
feedback was received.  Any meeting which has continued for so long 
(there are agendas since 1 Sep 1998 at 
https://safe.nrao.edu/wiki/bin/view/ALMA/MonthlyMeetings) must change to 
suit the changing needs of its participants.  I suggest that in lieu of 
this month's meeting folks consider what they would like out of these 
meetings.  If useful, we could hold a meeting to discuss these points.

What information would you like from the meeting, and do you get that 
information from it now?  One problem has been using a time slot which 
was suitable for all partners.  Is that information available from other 
channels--for instance from the regional ARCs?  I don't know if all of 
the ARCs have meetings which serve the communications purposes that the 
Sci IPT meetings were intended to serve.
