i did a comparative sensitivity calculation of Q-band on the upgraded VLA
and ALMA for al before the lame-duck MAC/SAC meeting last saturday.

ALMA has only about 20% more point source sensitivity than upgraded VLA.

this means that the selling points for ALMA must rely on wide field
mapping (including short baselines & total power capability) and 
southern sources, IMHO...
