[mmaimcal] at yet higher z...

Bryan asked for analogous numbers at higher z than I had furnished.
For the hotter models (b) and (c), things pretty much continue on
as expected at least for a while, but for model (a) of the dark
cloud, the cmb begins to have effects which are somewhat stronger
and related to cloud physics (as opposed to simple radiative
transfer) and which I did not expect.

As 2.735*(1+z) rises to the T_kin which the material would like
to have at z = 0, the cloud thermodynamics have to change! And so
it is for all the models here. Eventually, at some z, the models
get much hotter than they would have been at z = 0 and the CO
lines get brighter.

My dark cloud models get much hotter at larger z and the CO lines
get stronger. For instance, the cloud whose T_kin varies between
25 K at the edge and 9 K inside is at 50-60 K at z = 10. Dark clouds
aren't really cold at high redshift. Even models (b) and (c) are
affected at z = 10. At z = 15, my dark cloud wanted to be at 300K,
owing partly to runaway heating from H_2 formation (which varies
as sqrt(T_kin).

Is this real? Within the context of my models, yes. Do the models
describe a MW at high z? That's research and we're doing politics.

regards, Harvey
