Angel just called from Chajnantor. They lauched a radiosonde (the first)
at 14:30 local time (17:30 UT). The balloon ascended at 2.5 - 4.5 m/s.
The weather was clear, with approx. 8 m/s surface winds from the WNW.
The winds aloft were stronger, so the elevation angle stayed small. They
lost the radiosonde signal when the balloon was at 12 km altitude, 50 km
down range ESE. Angel reports two inversion layers, the first layer at
480 mb (5970 m), "on top of Chascon," and a second, weaker layer at 270
mb (10578 m). Angel will send us the data as soon as practical.

Congratulations Angel, Riccardo, and the rest of the team!
