It's a pity it's not a sequence, like FK6, FK7... so that software can be written which can `guess' what's going on when the next version comes out. Then you could have reader which allows defaulting to the last highest-precision system, perhaps, whereas any readers you invent now won't be expecting the possibility RADECSYS = 'GAIA' for example.
