Sorry for the late reply, I encountered this while reviewing the entire
discussions.

I do not think deviations from the standard wrt earlier conventions shall
be marked in the standard. Their place is appendix H.3 (see last page of
circulated draft). If the current mention of LONGSTRN is not enough, a
sentence like yours could replace it (there).
