[evlatests] X-band Receiver Noise Diode Calibrations

Mon Oct 19 19:11:13 EDT 2026

Attached are plots of the lab- and sky-calibrated Tcal values for our X-band receivers. Four antennas were out of the array at the time of measurement, and will have to be observed later. The black traces are the lab-values, the red are the sky-values.

All sky-Tcals are measured with respect to the known flux density of 3C286.

The antenna efficiences were adjusted such that the median of the gains, when using the lab-values, is 1.0

A few antennas, especially ea05, with receiver #10, show what looks like a large standing wave — in both the lab and sky values. The period of about 1 GHz suggests a reflection separation of about 15cm (free space).
