There were a number of tweaks to the 3-bit system yesterday. This is
my understanding of what I've heard -- please send along any corrections!
* New samplers in ea10, ea12; all old samplers removed from array
We currently have all the first article sampler boards out on
the array, with 4 samplers (2 modules) each in:
ea06 ea07 ea10 ea12 ea14 ea26
ea06, ea07, ea10, ea14, and ea26 have new T304s
ea12 is still using old T304s -- we expect no fringes for A2C2, and
possibly low amp on A1C1
The old samplers will be returned to the array once Mike is done with
them (primarily putting in the new firmware), probably next week.
T304s for these will appear a few weeks thereafter.
Note that the sampler that was in ea15-A1 looked quite dead when on the
array.
* The monitor point on the d301/d303 reports the following
serial numbers for the samplers currently on the array:
ea06-d301 073 110921|1417
-d303 115 110919|1109
ea07-d301 121 110906|1727
-d303 119 110907|0748
ea10-d301 001 111003|0904
-d303 67 111003|1705
ea12-d301 085 111003|1323
-d303 99 111004|0812
ea14-d301 125 110912|1325
-d303 127 110908|1556
ea26-d301 blank ???
-d303 123 110919|1421
ea15, ea28: no 3-bit samplers any more
Note that ea26-d301 has no serial number in there -- maybe Mike can
fix this?
* Hichem fixed the MIB code per Barry's request, to ignore 3-bit
power commands if the 3-bit sampler is already on. This should
eliminate various oddities we saw in our last tests (Tuesday I think?).
The most prominent problem from those earlier data sets was a reset of
the 3-bit samplers 15-20 seconds after the beginning of each 3-bit scan.
I believe this at least has been eliminated (thanks Hichem!) but am
waiting to hear back from Vivek about the more subtle issues.
