[evlatests] "Show stoppers"

This really needs some discussion...it's not so obvious to me that
off-source flags is a show stopper, for instance.  Maybe this will come up
at Claire's meeting this morning.  I could give my own list but my impression 
is that there's lots of talking going on behind the scenes.
