mars was at C-band; venus at L.
"old style" is using PlanetInterferometerModel - basically an internal
ephemeris where the executor does everything behind the scenes. "new
style" is using PolynomialInterferometerModel - using the information in
the OBSERVE file, on the source and //PM cards (though you have to label
them as //P2 cards for obs2script to recognize this mode).
now, there were problems starting this file up - first i sent a
malformed script, then a wierd thing happened with the operator's
interface, so the operator (after talking to rich) aborted the script
and restarted it. basically things didn't really start properly
observing until scan #6.
i didn't have a chance to look at this data until today, due to problems
building AIPS on my new laptop, but i had a look today during travel.
i can say that this observation was a spectacular failure. there is no
properly correlated data except on a single scan - the first of the
venus calibrator scans.
i don't know whether this failure was caused by something funky going on
with the executor during this script or something more fundamental, but
it seems suspicious that the calibrator scans didn't even work, except
when there were 2 consecutive ones. barry - this makes me suspect that
restoreInterferometerModel was not working properly. if you want to
look at the script, it's in /home/mchost/bbutler/test/test2007Oct25.evla
i'll need to do another test this week - is any time tomorrow available?
i have real observations tomorrow night of uranus...
