Today was a frustrating day in many respects. See Rick's note
for the only real result of today's work.

Barry gave up short shortly after lunch because the network
saturation between Socorro and the VLA made for intolerable
delays. This continued until just after the observations which
Rick reported at which time it magically was normal again. That
we only were able to get 20 to 25 minutes of data during an
attempted one hour observation van be attributed to the difficulty
of making things work when it takes five minutes to start the
executor.

A catalog of problems and curiosities.
1. 14B seems to have suffered a delay change of a couple of hundred
nanoseconds. Barry does not think that this is related to the FIR
experiments he was making, but a changes that large is difficult to
explain with hardware swaps. I will not change the delay parameter
until we understand its origin.
2. The 14D downconverter seems to be dysfunctional. I understand it
will be swapped out tomorrow.
3. When we began ea14-l302-2 was in standby and had to be rebooted.
4. The 16A downconverter MIB was not responding.
5. The pointing run last night was quite successful but provided
another mystery. The previous pointing run suggested a change in
Azimuth offset for 16 of -0.6 arc-min. This was applied. Now another
-0.8 arc-min is suggested. Either the antenna is changing over time
or the previous change, though recorded in the database, was never
effective. There will be a separate report on pointing.

We will have to spend some time getting things in order to be able to
do more serious tests.
1. See if we can get the downconverter MIBs to be more robust.
2. After correcting the pointing model terms have a go at measuring
interband collimations again. This is important for K band.
3. Implement attenuator control from the tables that Walter has compiled.
4. Understand the "dropouts" that Rick reports.

I am planning to do system controller tests next week so SW time
will have to be shared with that effort.
