It has been in use a few years now, and works after a fashion, so it 
is a handy reference for arcane questions.

I'm not proud of the code - it is difficult to read and maintain.  
Although it does have hooks for expanding to four IFpairs,
I look forward to replacing it in the real-time system with your redesign.

I suspect I will have detailed remarks after a bit more leisure.
