Just a bit of information to pass along from a
conversation I had with Wayne concerning the
state of the development board -

We will have to develop a daughter board to fully
implement the ethernet connection. The MII (media
independent interface) signal lines are brought
out to connectors on the TC11IB TriBoard, but
these lines are insufficient for a full ethernet
port. To complete the port we must add 1) a
transceiver chip (this forms the ethernet frames)
2) either the transformer (magnetics) for a
twisted pair connection or the transceiver &
discretes needed for a fiber optic connector,
and 3) the actual plug/connector. Wayne does
plan to implement the JTAG connector for the
ethernet frame transceiver.

Wayne has already developed the necessary schematic.
He needs 1 - 2 weeks for board layout, several days
will be required for outsourced fabrication based
on the layout, and the resulting board must be
populated. (The needed parts will be ordered this
week.) All-in-all, about 3 weeks for the daughter
board. We are pondering how to test the result.
This work must be completed prior to supplying a
board to an rtos vendor for porting.

(Wayne can supply additional info & correct my errors
at the Tue, 11AM meeting.)

Bill
