Has any thought been given to returning to the field bus (CAN) antenna in
the event Infineon falls through?

Development would be expedited as we could use the ALMA MIB, place the
intelligence into one of these rfi hardened CPU boxes (eliminate the noisy
ethernet switch and gain a better RTOS platform) and save some big $$$ on
hardware, NRE software ports, and antenna fiber costs.

Drawbacks of course are the loss of universal access ethernet would provide
(bench testing, "plug 'n' play", communication speed...)
and some of the modularity of the MIBS....
