Some info on RT Liunx as to footprints.

RTL seems to be in the same camp as VxWorks here, It is farily difficult to
get much under 500k and very easy to bloat up into the MB's. Wayne brought up
eCos, which is a more embedded, more RT type of OS. Footprints are in the
10-100K range and it had Linux "frontends" or hooks. Though it's not Linux, it
is
free w/ a fair amount of development systems, open source, etc. from RedHat
(you pay
for tech support if you need it).
