Hi everyone,

Thanks all who responded so far to the poll. Somewhat amazingly, *almost*
everyone who has responded so far was available either in person (~10) or
remotely (~2) during the week of November 9. (It was* absolutely* everyone
until about 5 minutes ago, when someone sent in a new response while I was
halfway through composing this email! But there remain more people
unavailable in the week of 16 Nov than the single response that was
unavailable for 9 Nov). Given that ADASS is happening the week before in
Perth, there was a preference from some of the potential international
attendees for Perth over Sydney or Melbourne. Cormac has indicated that
hosting at CSIRO Perth should be a feasible option that week. So, with
remarkable swiftness, it seems that the wavefunction has probably collapsed
into a preferred option:

What: DiFX workshop
Where: Perth
When: Nov 9-13 (I would proposal 9-10 Nov users meeting, 11-13 developers
workshop)

Now, I recognise that while this had broad support it might not be
completely optimal for everyone - and not everyone has necessarily
responded already. So, can I please ask that if you *DO* want to attend a
2026 DiFX workshop but you *DON'T* want it to be at this place and time,
please respond soon! (Either on the google form, or as a reply to this
email, or both! If no blockers arise, I would suggest that we try to lock
this in by e.g. the end of July, to give people time to make travel
arrangements.

Cheers,
Adam
