Hi all

I am pleased to announce that Swinburne has agreed to released mpifxcorr under the GPLv3 licenses. DIFX is more than just mpifxcorr, but all developers who have contributed the other components have also agreed to make their contribution available under GPLv3 - i.e. all of DIFX is now GPLv3 licensed.

As such the ATNF SVN repository will be made accessible to anyone without having to register. Write access to the repository will still require a password. Existing access will not change. Anyone wanting write access to the repository needs to agree all contributions are under the GPLv3 license.

With freeing up of the license you are also now free to do whatever you want with the code (obviously complying with the GPL license….). I would ask people though

 - Please don’t create your own public “DIFX” repository (certainly one which is not synced tightly with the SVN repository).
 - You are free to take portions of DIFX and use within your own GPLv3 licences software. If you decided to create a “fork” of DIFX,
please call it something different to avoid confusion.
 - As DIFX is a (successful!) informal collaboration, please use the difx-users or difx-developers emailing list to let people know what you are
working on. This helps reduce duplication and may avoid anyone going off a direction the rest of the group feels is the wrong approach.

Regards
Chris
