Dear Eric Greisen
Thank you for your reply with your advice.
For some reason, even if I enter the directory name directly into DADEVS.LIST, AIPS does not recognize it, but if I try to link it to an old hard disk directory using a symbolic link and register that name, it recognizss it.
Thanks,
Miyoshi

In the new area type "touch SPACE" and make sure that 0-byte file has owner and group write privilege. This file is used to lock things when a file is created and its presence is required in all AIPS data ares.

Subject: [daip] How to add new data areas to AIPS {External}
Dear AIPS Expert,
I am trying to add a new data area to AIPS, but I can't seem to get it to work.
Does AIPS not recognize the new area if I only add the new area names to DADEVS.LIST and NETS in DA00?
Is there anything I need to run a program ?
The version of AIPS I am using is 31DEC24.
I would be happy if you could give me some guidance.
Sincerly Yours,
M.Miyoshi
